Community Service Internship Program (Work-Study)
Community Service Work-Study allows students to earn their work-study funds at local non-profit agencies that serve to improve our community. Positions may include working with anyone in the community ranging from children to the elderly, or other individuals that need assistance.
Under federal law, schools must allocate at least %7 of their Federal Work-Study allocation to employ students in community service jobs. Additionally, at least one of the Federal Work-Study students that schools employ to fulfill the aforementioned requirement must work performing family literacy activities or as a reading tutor. Ivy Tech - Bloomington, with its commitment to community service and civic engagement, strives to go above and beyond the required %7 and projects to invest at least %11 of its Federal Work-Study allocation from August 1, 2007 - August 1, 2008.

As part of this goal, Ivy Tech Community College - Bloomington offers release time for faculty and staff that are interested in volunteering during normal business hours.

The College allows faculty and staff one (1) hour in pay status for voting. If faculty or staff need additional time off to vote, your supervisor may approve up to three (3) more non-paid hours or they may use accrued leave time.
